The platypus is one of the most unusual animals in the world. It lives in rivers and lakes in eastern Australia, including the island of Tasmania. Although it is a mammal, it lays eggs, a feature shared with only a few other species, the echidnas. When European scientists first saw a platypus in the late 1700s, many of them believed it was a joke made by sewing parts of different animals together. Today, we know that this strange combination of a duck-like bill, a beaver-like tail and webbed feet helps the animal hunt underwater.

Resposta correta: alternativa E
